    FIBA Masters 2026 is already making a big impression on participants

    MIES (Switzerland) - The first ever FIBA Masters Open is now in full swing in Corinth and Loutraki, with players from the 40+ demographic worldwide coming together to showcase their basketball skills and passion for the sport.

    Basketball united by friendship is being celebrated in Greece at the first edition

    The brand new grassroots event and celebration of the masters basketball community globally, tipped off with the opening ceremony on July 4 and will run until July 12.

    The first couple of days have already witnessed some great matchups across the various age categories, showcasing a high level of competition from across the globe.

    Meanwhile, the highly anticipated 3x3 tournaments made it a Monday to remember as they made their debut, with players, coaches and officials already making their mark on the court and making some lasting memories.

    This also extends to soaking up experiences off the floor too, with the event also being enjoyed by family, friends and other visitors. This has included some of the participants attending the Opening Ceremony and the Greece and Portugal game in the First Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers.

    Now another social highlight has been activated with the opening of the FIBA Masters Open 2026 Fan Zone at Loutraki Beach Park. Running each evening from 18.00-20.30 through until July 11, it is designed to be at the heart of the tournament's social experience.

    Serving as a dedicated 'Social Hub' that reaches well beyond basketball, sessions and workshops are also being held around creative arts and crafts inspired by Greek traditions - including Pilates recovery sessions, mythology and astronomy, local wine tastings, and first aid workshops.
