The Hellenic Basketball Federation is proud and excited to host the 1st FIBA Masters Open, a new global celebration of basketball designed for athletes aged 40 and above. Greece is a country where basketball is more than a sport, it is part of our cultural identity, shaped by historic achievements, passionate fans, and generations who grew up with the game. Welcoming the inaugural edition of this competition is therefore both symbolic and natural: a nation with deep basketball heritage hosting athletes who continue to carry the sport’s legacy forward. The tournament will take place from 4–12 July 2026 across the beautiful region of Corinth, and the cities of Western Attica, located just 80 kilometers from Athens. The wider area of Corinth, rich in ancient history and Mediterranean culture, provides an inspiring setting for competition, while Loutraki’s coastline, resorts, and warm hospitality create the perfect environment for relaxation, celebration, and summer leisure. Together, they form an exceptional stage for a festival-like event with 3,000–4,000 participants, more than 250 teams, and games played across 15–18 dedicated venues.
