Welcome Message from the President of the Hellenic Basketball Federation

    Dear Basketball Friends,

It is a great honor for Greece to host the first-ever FIBA Masters Open and to welcome members of the global FIBA Family to the wider Corinth and Loutraki area as well as the cities of Wester Attica, in July 2026. This landmark event reflects values that define both our country and the Masters community: fair play, lifelong participation, friendship, and the enduring joy of returning to the court at any age.

The FIBA Masters Open will unite thousands of players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters from around the world. It is an inclusive tournament, open to all athletes aged 40+, regardless of background or previous playing level. This openness, combined with FIBA’s vision of strengthening one global basketball community, makes the event especially meaningful.

Greece’s long-standing basketball tradition and proven capability in hosting major FIBA competitions make us proud partners in this historic initiative. We are equally grateful for the strong support of all Local Authorities, whose collaboration is instrumental in delivering a world-class event.

Beyond the games themselves, we hope you will enjoy everything our country has to offer: its history, culture, natural beauty, and world-renowned hospitality. Bring your teammates, bring your families, and create memories that will stay with you long after the final buzzer.

We look forward to welcoming you to Greece and celebrating together this new chapter in international basketball.

    With warm regards,

Evangelos Liolios - President, Hellenic Basketball Federation
